Seo Ji Young is a South Korean former singer, dancer and actress. She was a vocalist and dancer in the pop group Sharp from its 1998 debut, releasing six albums together before the group broke up in 2002 — a breakup attributed to a scandal over her bullying of a fellow member, Lee Ji Hye.
She went on to record two solo albums, "Listen to My Heart" (2005) and "Different This Time" (2007), with the singles "Stay in Me" and "Hey Boy". Her acting is a small handful of parts either side of those: "I'm Sorry, I Love You" (2004) as the actress Kang Min Joo, "Banjun Drama" (2005), then "Daring Women", "Daemul: Big Thing" and "Smile, Mom" in 2010 and "Dream of 400 Years" in 2011. She sang "Love You" for the "Daring Women" soundtrack and appeared in the musical "Zorro" in 2014.
She comes from a prominent family: her father, Seo Guk Hwan, was the 19th president of Yonsei University and Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport under President Park Geun Hye, and her paternal grandfather, Seo Jeon Chul, was the 20th Minister of National Defense and president of the Korea Baseball Association.
She married the financier Kim Kyung Goo, five years her senior, on November 10, 2011 at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul, before more than a thousand guests, and had a daughter in May 2014.
