Kang Min Hyuk is the drummer of the rock band CNBLUE, which he joined in 2009. The group debuted in Japan that August with the mini album Now or Never, and in Korea in 2010 with Bluetory, whose title track "I'm a Loner" was an immediate hit.

He began acting the same year in the omnibus film Acoustic, alongside his bandmate Lee Jong Hyun, and made his television debut in It's Okay, Daddy's Girl. In 2011 he was cast in Heartstrings opposite another CNBLUE member, Jung Yong Hwa, and sang "Star" for its soundtrack. My Husband Got a Family (2012) brought him wider notice: it led the weekly ratings for twenty-five consecutive weeks and peaked at 45.8% on TNmS and 52.3% on AGB Nielsen, the highest-rated Korean drama of that year.

The Heirs (2013) followed, and he went on to Entertainers (2016), Hospital Ship (2017), Not Yet Thirty and Oh My Ladylord (2021) and Celebrity (2023). He has also released solo music in Japan, including the singles "Moontalk" and "On the Cheek" and the 2019 mini album 4GIFTS.
